The Great Tomb of Nazarick. The “Ainz Ooal Gown” was once believed to be one of the strongest guilds in the game with the largest number of members, 41.

But since the downfall of the game, 37 of those members had quit the game. Momonga continues to play the guild leader and protects and maintains The Great Tomb of Nazarick. He invites the remaining four members of the guild to help him out but of them, only one shows up. However, even that one member stays for only a short time.

After that incident, Momonga realizes that almost all the players have left and gone back to their real lives. That forces him to finally accept the reality. Nevertheless, Momonga decides to stay logged into the game until all of the servers are shut down.

To his shock, the game does not cease to exist when the servers are shut down. Instead, it seemed as Yggdrasil has come to exist in its own reality and most of its Non-Player Characters had also come back to life.

Momonga realizes that he has been trapped inside the game with all of his normal player functions like messaging or the ability to log out, suspended. Momonga, alone in this virtual world, sets off to find out if anyone else is stuck in this world with him.

He takes on the name of “Ainz Ooal Gown”, and begins exploring the virtual world of Yggdrasil to find out the truth behind the mystery that he had found himself in. But even in all this mess, he continues to ensure the safety of his headquarters, The Great Tomb of Nazarick. There his journey begins which tackles a lot of interesting challenges and revelations.
